 Friday 17th – Sunday 19th March

 Led by Fr. Elias Polonski

Elias Polonski is a retired Anglican priest living in Malmesbury, but has in the past been a Benedictine monk at Douai Abbey in Berkshire. He is American and  the son of a Polish father and Italian mother.

He now lives a simple  life without car, computer or mobile phone!  He draws on the spirituality of a wide range of Christian traditions as well as other faiths and is passionate about “Creation Theology”, seeking God in all created things, not exclusively as revealed in the doctrine of the church.

On our retreat, Elias wants to reflect on “the joy of being” and he will offer reflections and meditations  to help us in that adventure.

Booking forms for the retreat are available at the back of church, or if you would like further information, do speak to Rod (01249 652788)

Foundations of Faith Begins Thurs 26th Jan

Foundations of Faith is an informal discussion group on the “Christian Basics” (what do we mean by God? Who is Jesus? How can I understand the bible? What about other faiths? – there’s no end to the possible questions!) – looking at the central claims of our faith and trying to understand them better. It’s very informal and there are no right or wrong answers on offer, just a chance to share ideas and hear some of the ways people have answered these questions in the past. It’s as valuable for committed Christians as it is for people who are considering the claims of faith – and it’s also a good preparation for adults thinking about baptism or confirmation. The initial course is of 8 session course and it will begin soon! We’ll meet fortnightly, and we’ve gone with the most popular day for those who have expressed interest so far, which is a Thursday. We begin on 26th January at 7.30 pm in the meeting room – the blue door to the left side of the church as you go through the gates.  So contact Rod, 652788, if you’d like to learn more, come along on Thursday!
